Last month, Rogan was rushed to the hospital complaining of severe shoulder and back pain. After endless tests, she was diagnosed with stage IV uterine cancer that had metastasized to her liver, bones and lymph nodes.

Michelle, a teacher at St. Michael Angel Academy, started chemotherapy immediately but treatment had to be discontinued due to excess fluid that built up in Michelle's lungs.

She died less than eight weeks later in the ICU.

"I don’t think any of us has any words that truly express how heartbreaking this is," a longtime friend wrote on her Facebook page.

"Michelle was such a wonderful, sweet & loving person & she truly will never be forgotten," another person wrote.

"We will miss her forever. Her Little Angels missed her from the first day she left - Where’s Ms. Michelle?"

More than $22,000 had been raised for the family on a GoFundMe as of Monday evening.

Michelle is survived by her husband, John Rogan; parents James A. Breslin, Jr. & Rosemarie (nee Melone); children David and his wife April Pickard, Emily Rogan, Victoria Rogan and Thomas Rogan; and grandchildren Luciana and Christian.

She is also survived by her siblings Christine and her husband James Halloran, Kevin and his wife Karen Breslin, Jennifer and her husband Nicholas Lanzalotta and sister-in-law of Nora & George Rausch and Robert & Annette Rogan; and godmother Janeann Dickerson.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 27, at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m.

The funeral will be Wednesday at the funeral home at 9 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church with entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum.
